There are many ways people go about becoming better human beings and achieving personal improvement:
Religious practice: attending church, reading scriptures, praying.
- Other spiritual practices: meditation, journaling, yoga, self-reflection, etc.
- Studying self-help books and materials.
- Seeking help from others: talking to friends, counseling, coaching.
- Attending lectures, workshops, seminars, etc.
From my experience, all of these are powerful, complimentary and even indispensable methods of personal growth. In general, the more of personal improvement practices you incorporate into your life the more rapid your progress.
I’d encourage you to think about your plan for personal improvement and development. What is the foundation? How do other practices fit? How can you be more deliberate about it?
By not leaving your personal growth up to chance, or the mere passage of years, you can greatly accelerate your progress in achieving personal improvement.
